Computer Aided Design (CAD)

CATIA, stands for Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application. It is the most powerful Knowledge based and widely used CAD (computer aided design) software of its kind in the world. CATIA has been created by Dassault Systems of France and is marketed & technicaly supported worldwide by IBM. CATIA can be applied to a wide variety of industries, from aerospace and defense, automotive, and industrial equipment, to high tech, shipbuilding, consumer goods, plant design, consumer packaged goods, life sciences, architecture and construction, process power and petroleum, and services.

SolidWorks is a 3D mechanical CAD (computer-aided design) program that runs on Microsoft Windows and is being developed by Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp., a subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes, S. A. (Vélizy, France). SolidWorks is currently used by over 1.3 million engineers and designers at more than 130,000 companies worldwide.
